About Werther & Gray

Werther & Gray is a small artisan candle company located in Delaware.

The name is derived from Goethe’s The Sorrows of Young Werther, and Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray. These two literary works bookend the Romantic era, and like its namesake, Werther & Gray is rooted in the values of Romanticism, with styles and themes that emphasize timeless beauty, imagination, and emotion.

Despite its small size, Werther & Gray has shipped candles all over the world and has been stocked by numerous museums, cultural institutions, and boutique gift shops since launching in 2015.

An Artisan Company

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT: Werther & Gray is the creative vision of a single artisan, with all concepts and packaging designed by the owner, Charles.

FRAGRANCES: The majority of Werther & Gray's fragrances are original compositions formulated in-house, using the finest perfumery materials.

PRODUCTION: Candles are handmade in small batches, with careful inspection before being packaged.

ORDER PROCESSING: Your orders are packed and shipped by the same person who designed and made your items!
